in order to be Italian-American you legally must be born in Italy immigrated to America and became a citizen. She is American of Italian heritage.

I see a reference to her winning a figure skating gold medal at the "Junior Olympics".The "Junior Olympics" name was adopted with USOC permission for the Juvenile and Intermediate national championships (established in 1991) of the U.S. Figure Skating Association in 1995,but Kristian Alfonso would have been 13 in the 1977-1978 skating season. This "Junior Olympics" medal has apparently been part of her official biography since 1998 (the first year I had this argument online) or before, but I don't know what she really won;the 1978 Junior Ladies champion of the USA was Jill Sawyer, and the Novice Ladies champion Michelle Schelske (the following year future world champions Elaine Zayak and Rosalynn Sumners won these titles). It is possible that she was a "gold medalist" in the USFSA definition of passing the eighth figure or senior free skating test, but that isn't a competition victory. The embellishment needs to be removed from the article, but we ought to find out just what she really won.--Louis Epstein/le@put.com/ 03:57, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Top Google hit for "Junior Olympics" is presumably what she won[1]. Niteowlneils 21:55, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

What is her race / ethnicity? I always assumed she was Latina. (talk) 03:50, 7 October 2016 (UTC) Darwin[reply]

She is..but I guess chooses not to make a point of it. Holllywood for Latinos is the opposite it is for Jewish people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:642:4101:4167:40AE:1F73:64E6:AD1 (talk) 21:58, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Citations and deletions[edit]

I did a little cleanup on this article, which is still kind of a mess. The credits for Alfonso should be in a table.

Since there was a tag for uncited items that was five years old, I removed the uncited items and the tag. Please be sure to find valid sources for adding any of it back (particularly the talent contest and Junior Olympics info). 2601:282:1300:296:B57D:6B25:8806:DF8A (talk) 16:00, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
